4/6/19 Although ospreys built this nest many years ago, Bald eagles recently have beat them back for the past couple of yeas and have occupied and raised young here.
4/24/18 Bald Eagles have once again taken over this nest.
5/14/18 One adult BE and two fuzzy chicks.
This long-term Osprey nest has ponce again been overtaken by another species, this time Canada Goose.
7/19/16 One adult perched at nest, one eaglet jumping between branches below nest.
7/12/16 One fully feathered and of size to fledge perched above nest.
6//29/16 One Bald Eagle chick perched above the nest, fully feathered.
5/26/16 One adult Bald Eagle by the nest, one weeks old chick visible by edge of nest.
6/8/16 One adult blad Eagle feeding a chick in the nest.
5/13/16 One adult Bald Eagle alongside the nest, one adult in the nest, and one dark eaglet appeared looking out over the edge of the nest.

April 11, 2016, an adult Bald Eagle was still in the nest in the incubating posture. So much for the ospreys this season.
On March 27, 2016 I observed a Bald Eagle in this nest, apparently in the incubating posture. They attempted to take this osprey nest over two years ago but were driven off, and settled for another osprey nest about 1/4 mile away, where they raised one eaglet. Also on this date, I observed an adult Bald Eagle at a nest they had occupied a few years ago. I guess site #1066 won the choice.
05/13/15 Cold, windy. One bird appeared to be in the incubating posture.
04/17/15 Before noon one bird was perched on nest edge. About an hour later two were at the nest, using the old nest which is substantial in size.
06/27/14 One adult flew from nest with partial fish, then returned without it. OPne adult in nest appears to be tending young.
07/15/14 One adult flew into nest site. One adult on edge of nest in shadig posture, 98 degrees. Possible two young in nest.
07/23/14 One adult perched by nest, activity observed in nest.
07/29/14 Two young on edge of nest flexing wings.
06/12/14 Very, very windy. One very low in the nest, possibly incubating postue.
04/08/14 This could be interesting. Two adult Bald Eagles were alongside the nest. One Osprey was across the small bay perched in a favored tree.
04/17/14 No Bald Eaglees, but one Osprey perched by the nest.
04/28/14 One perched alongside the nest, one perched above the nest.

04/08/14 Interesting. Two adult Bald Eagles perched on this nest site tree. One Osprey perched about 200 yards away.
8/29/13 One bird perched below the nest, could possibly be a youngster.
8/25/13 One adult holding a headless fish perched below the nest.
8/19/13 With two observations an hour apart, one adult perched below the nest with another perched on a favorite limb abot 200 years away. During latter observation, possible movement of one young in the nest.
8/13/13 I was hoping that I'd see the young perched on the edge of the nest, but no such luck. At noon an adult was perched on a lib above the nest. Aty 1300 hours an adult was perched below the nest, but no young observed.
8/06/13 1130 hours, perhaps one young observed in nest. 1315 hours, two adults prched separately below nest, still unable to see young in deep nest.
7/23/13 No birds observed in area.
07/17/13 Two adults perched near nest, both responding to intruder osprey. Both returned to above nest. Impossible to see into nest well, so have to wait until nestlings start exercising on nest edge.
07/08/13 At 1100 hours one adult flew into the nest, then departed. At 1300 hours one adult flew into the nest..
07/02/13 One adult perched alongside the nest. 101 degrees, unable to see into the nest well.
06/26/13 1000 hour, no activity noted at site. 1100 hour, one adult perched below nest on limb. Very windy day.
06/10/13 One adult perched alongside andbelow nest, but this nest has a very deep well so impossible to see into nest.
06/03/13 One addult perched alongside nest eting a fish. Cannot see into nest so guessing still incubating.
5/24/13 At 1100 hours no activity observed, but it is impossible to see into the nest. No other birds seen nearby.
1300 hours, still nothing observed at the nest.
04/03/13 No activity.
04/11/13 One in the nest, one perched alongside nest.
04/18/13 One standing in nest, one perched lower down on same tree.
04/25/13 One bird peerched by the nest.
05/02/13 Two perched below nest on same tree.
08/08/12 Two young out of nest, beklow on same tree as nest. Both adults in and around nest tree. One young on limb below best, exeercising wings.
08/03/12 At least one young seen in nest, one adult perched off to side.
07/28/12 One adult perched above the nest, and the lone youngster in the nest.
07/18/12 At 11:00 no birds appeared on or around the nest. However, at3:00, one adult was on the nest feeding a chick, and another arrived with a fish. Guessing the young was laid low at 11:00 while both parents were fishing.

Postiong for 6/28 and 6/29 wrong nest. Thhis nest, by Davis Lake dam, had one adult feeding unseen chichs in nest.
6/28 and 6/29 One adult seemingly incubating posture. Other adult not observed.
6/14/12 One adult low in nest, another came with a partially eaten fish and settled in close to the other. Both seemed to be eating off the fish, then one took the fish to a limb near the nest and continued eating the now quite small portion.
4/19 Both bringing materials to nest. 4/20 Same. 5/08 One incubating posture, other nearby. 5/13 Incubating posture. 5/29 Incubating posture, other bringing fish to site.
