Nesting Diaries
Again, could be one or more chicks......hard to tell at this point.
There are 2 large chicks on this nest. I'd say they will most likely fledge soon.
We can now see the head of one chick!!!
We have seen a lot of activity at this nest, even with the nearby construction.
One osprey in the nest March 22. There was another osprey in a tree nearby, but it could've belonged to any number or nearby nests.
No ospreys in or near this nest today.
There was one chick/fledgling hanging close to the nest on our last check 2 days ago (July 24, 2021)
Chick is growing and still hunkers down at times.
Easier to see the chick now.
We could actually see the top of a chick's head today!
I'm going to say there is a chick. Both ospreys were in or near this nest when we passed it twice today. They were sitting up higher in the nest.
Observed, but not much change.
Possible incubation activity. Sometimes there is an osprey hunkered down and sometimes it's up on the nest with its' mate.
Nest looks good. Both osprey were here today.
Nest rebuilding is going on.
There are only a few twigs here from last season, so I see rebuilding is necessary.
