osprey remaining at the nest with no pressure from geese but bald eagles harassing daily
nest has been productive for past 4 years. 2018 produced 2 chicks, only one fledged. one was caught in twine at nest for about 2 weeks and was rescued by Tri-State Bird Rescue but could not be saved due to severe injuries. this season was the second attempt of geese to get onto the platform. goose excluder was placed on the platform late february and was removed today once the female was settling in at nest area. goose are currently across the creek but could attempt to nest at any time. fingers crossed the osprey remain at the nest daily. bald eagles have a nest on Pepper Creek and frequent this area and are fed regularly by neighbors. lots of pressure here from various bird species but the osprey seem to perservere.
