Nesting Diaries
05/12/21 This nest looked nearly totally destroyed over the winter, and previous observations this spring. However, today there were two adults sitting in the partially repaired nest, still a bit rough looking, and probably wouldn't make it into Better Homes and Gardens. But, great to see them back, and wish them well.
04/08/20 Much of this nest was destroyed over winter. There is a possibility they are in the process of rebuilding, but no activity during my observation.
5/30 An adult low in the nest, moving around, could be turning eggs, or young chicks.
6/18 An adult feeding unknown number of young deep in the nest.
05/06/19 One low in the nest in incubation posture,
3/30/19 A lone bird perched above the nest.
4//7/19 Two birds at the nest, rebuilding.
4/16/18 Two adults in the nest.
5/14/18 Two adults at the nest.`
7/12/16 Adult feeding two young.
7/19/16 One adult on edge of nest, and two fully feathered young in nest.
6/29/16 Two adult at the nest, both appearing to be feeding 2 - 3 chicks. Very high above viewing location, and use of spotting scope.
7/6/16 One or two young observed moving in the nest. No adults seen in area.
5/26/16 One adult at the nest, a possible young showing but not sure.
6/8/216 Two adults and one chick visible at the nest.
4/20/16 One adult in the nest, one adult on edge of nest.
5/13/16 Two adults at the net.
First noticed this nest on way down from upper nests. Nest must have been started while I was gone for a couple of weeks. When observed, there were two birds at the nest.
