Nesting Diaries
5/06/19 Checked nest twice and no activity, no birds in the area. Hopefully one was just very low in the nest.
05/10/19 Still no activity.
04/21/19 Stopping for lunch, I observed this nest with just a head showing in the nest. This surprised me as the nest had not been added to for at least three seasons, so I did not expect the nest well to be so deep. The male arrived with a fish, and the female immediately left the nest leaving the male with this Huh? look.
This nest was used by a pair of Canada Geese for the previous two seasons.
4//19/19 A single bird was standing on the nest, looking around expectedly. Really good to see them back!
The past two seasons this nest has been occupied by Canada Geese, but this year no activity observed.
4/24/18 This nest is once again occupied by a Canada Goose, second year for this.
7/12/16 One adult perched below nest on side branch, 2 chicks in nest, low.
7/19/16 One adult perched nelow nest, 2 chicks low in nest.
7/26/16 One adult on edge, 2 chicks active in nest, fully feathered.
6/29/16 One adult perched below the nest, one adult sitting in the nest. No young visible.
5/26/16 One deep into the nest, one alongside eating a fish.
6/8/16 One in the nest.
One adult low in nest, one perched in same tree below nest.
4/20/16 One adult at the nest.
This nest was pointed out to me this date by the owner of the small RV park. He said it has been there since the 2014 season, and occupied bith that year and 2015. While observing the nest from a long distance, one bird did fly into the nest. I will be able to tell more in better weather.
