Nesting Diaries
Active Nest destroyed by Duke Energy. pair have been trying to build a nest in the location since arrival in Feburary. Before the could become viable the nest was destroyed multiple times. First by 1) rain 2) wind. Last week, Duke Energy destroyed the active nest and replaced it by prong wires. Today two adults were sitting on the pole between the prongs. Very sad. The power company should have left this nest alone thru breeding season
Pair of osprey back at this site. Last years next was detroyed by the power after nest was abandoned . This year the pair appear to be beginning to rebuild nest
