This nest was carried away with the ice in the winter. A new platform was erected at Lat 37.285297 and Long 75.572145. This platform is on land and I am assuming the pair from previous years have taken up residence there. This nest is close to a tall pine tree which they always used for feeding. After we placed the new platform they started building almost immediately, although the process was delayed by bad weather several times. On April 25th the incubation started. On May 7 we counted two eggs in the nest
chicks have flown and are not returning to nest
2 chicks remain in nest, one is flying and returning to nest
three chicks, very active, lots of wing stretching going on. Female leaves them for short periods of time.
two nestlings which hatched around May 16th
Female is incubating, male often visits for long periods, especially during colder weather.
