Description
Nest sits atop a utility pole at the edge of the golf course. Power company has made two unsuccessful attempts to dislodge the pair but now seem resigned to leaving the birds alone! This has been a successful nest for many years, raising 2 or 3 young regularly.

Nesting Diaries

12/18/2018 by Judy E
So far only one of the pair has been seen; concern for mate. Will keep watch. All ospreys in this area are returning late this year.

11/18/2017 by Judy E
This nest has produced 2-3 chicks every year for a very long time. Last year there were 2, which may not have been reported. One of the pair has returned as of 11/14 and is calling.

12/07/2016 by Judy E
Occupants have returned for the 2017 year. Pair is busy talking to each other.

05/09/2016 by Judy E
There are 3 healthy chicks in this nest, not yet flapping wings but at the edge surveying the scenery. This nest was started a little later than usual.

01/16/2016 by Judy E
Nest has been repaired following heavy summer rains and pair is frequently seen in it.

11/14/2015 by Judy E
This nest produced two healthy young. It was largely destroyed during the heavy summer rains but adult ospreys are gathering in the area and we believe the nest will be rebuit.

05/18/2015 by Judy E
Some time this past weekend all 3 babies left the nest, all healthy and squawking to each other as they fly over the pond in search of food.

05/12/2015 by Judy E
I still can't access the 2015 log on this nest but here is a photo of all 3 'babies' enjoying the view.

05/09/2015 by Judy E
The 3 young are getting bigger and more activity - very crowded nest. But she's raised 3 successfully in the past. These are already doing a little wing flapping.

04/22/2015 by Judy E
We still cannot post updates to this nest but do want to report that there appear to be 3 healthy fledglings.

04/03/2015 by Judy E
This system has an error that will not allow us to post updates to the activity logs but there are definitely young being fed as of late March.

02/15/2015 by Judy E
This very active and historically successful nest now shows signs of having an egg or two - bird has been seen in what we believe is the on-the-egg position.

12/19/2014 by Judy E
On 12/19/14 it appears the pair is beginning nidification.

05/12/2013 by Judy E
This was the very first flight for these 2; a sibling was already in a nearby tree. After a few practice flaps, the first one left the nest, with the other close behind. What is it about the sight of a first flight that reduces us humans to weeping rubble!!! We see this every year and we never tire of it. But this was the first time I was right under the nest when this happened.
