Nest in dead cypress tree along narrow old race paddy canal which is only accessible by kayak.The canal is between the Cape Fear River and Alligator Creek upstream from Wilmington, NC. There were babies in 2011 and 2012.

Newer nest observed over the past two years on the cross beams of a large power line and located approximately 1.5 miles north of nest #1569 and at about mile 135.5 of Rte.#95. Could it be offspring of nest #1569?
