Nesting Diaries

Female in the nest, we could just barely see her head turning through our lens. Male was fishing, and did fly into the nest while we were there, then rested on a nearby tree. Can not tell if there are chicks in the nest yet, it's rather far away across the water and behind the bridge piling. Photos updated today.

4/29/23 I had not noticed this nest before today as it is difficult to see from the shoreline unless you are aware of it. I was checking on Nest #3721 when I heard two Osprey calling, and neither were from #3721 - and shortly after a male went by carrying a fish and landed directly in the nest where a female was sitting/waiting in this (new) Nest (Pungo Ferry Signal). Nest is on the signal pilings directly below the bridge, and beside Channel Marker #42. I could not see into the nest today to observe Incubation/Fledgling Status, my lens not strong enough. This nest is within 150 feet of Nest #3721.
