5/22/23 - 10am. One juvenile peeking its head out of nest, actually bobbing it up and down as if looking for its parents. Parents did not return while I was there. dlm
5/9/23 - noon. One Osprey sitting on nest. Cannot see the number of eggs from my location. dlm
5/2/23 - noon. Observed two Ospreys on the nest. One flew off. The other stayed and appeared to be turning the eggs and nestling on them. While I was there, the second Osprey had not returned. dlm
4/18/23 - noon. Sunny and breezy. Two ospreys perched on platform. More sticks have been added. dlm
4/13/23 -11 am. One Osprey perched on platform. Just a few sticks on the platform. dlm
I saw the pair of Osprey on the nest for a few minutes. DH
4/11/23 - (11am until noon) When I arrived to watch, there were just a few sticks on the platform and two crows perched. After a few minutes, the crows flew off and one Osprey perched facing southeast for about 15 minutes. It then flew in a circle around the platform and then again perched. dlm
Since this Wednesday April 5th a number of observers have seen a pair of ospreys inhabiting this nest .. I just took a picture of one of them sitting on the nest platform for a few hours. There really is no nest so far .. maybe just one or two branches sitting on the platform. DH
4/4/23 - noon. No activity on the platform, however there was an Osprey perched in a nearby pine tree observing the platform. Several crows joined the tree swallows today in spring folly. dlm
3/31/23 - (noon) No Osprey activity. dlm
3/30/23 - (10 am) Sunny, clear and cool. Bald Eagle was perched on the platform. dlm
3/28/23 - (noon) No Osprey activity. dlm
Have been monitoring for several weeks between 11am and 2 pm. No Osprey activity to date. However, there are lots of tree swallows on the nesting boxes and there were 2 hawks soaring overhead on 3/20. dlm
Monitored this nest on 3/21/22 around 9:30 am. No activity--no ospreys seen in the vicinity. AB
No activity to report on a week later!!
No activity to report during the first week of March. Two sites were used, one on the north side of Discovery lane in a clearing just past the wooded area as you drive in to CBEC and the other one about 100 yards into the adjacent woods with a clearing at about twice the distance to the platform.
