Nesting Diaries
The nest is complete but there does not seem to be any incubating going on. Both adults were on branches and then heading out to hunt. No eggs yet.
Two adults in the area. The nest is redesigned and looks ready.
Believe nest location may be incorrect -- another "GlebeGut" nest is listed at nest #569. Believe #569 is properly located, not 857's Glebe Gut.
Two adults are either in the nest and sitting in nearby trees each time I monitor. Good news.
Definitely incubating. All looks normal and progressing well.
The pair returned in March and have spent several weeks rebuilding their nest, which was almost completely destroyed during the winter storms. For the last three weeks, they've been bringing in sticks and sitting on nearby branches.
We haven't seen any activity here for several days. We are worried, thinking that the nest may have been disbanded. There were several osprey flying in a circular pattern over the area, but none sitting on the nest or in the tree. The four flying overhead left the area after about 10 minutes and didn't return while we were there.
Ricky is presently bringing lots of new twigs to the nest to spruce up the place. Lucy is sticking close to the nest but doesn't appear to be sitting yet.
