Nesting Diaries
Nest appeared occupied in late March but pair then stared removing sticks and attempting to build nest on high voltage pole. Dominion took down sticks and moved them back to existing platform. Birds again took sticks to high voltage pole and Dominion removed. Pair eventually left. Another pair starting nest building in early July but did not complete

First adult arrived 3/6/2023, unable to tell sex of bird.
There are 3 chicks within the nest we observed. We were unable to observe the size of the 3rd chick, however, there is a remarkable difference in the 2 chicks we could get a good look at
Many times I go by I don't see the osprey, but I suspect Mama is sitting on eggs, because occasoinally she pots her head up. On Saturday I observed the male arrive sit down and the female move to the side of the nest as pictured.
My father loved to watch the osprey when he visited. He live in Nebraska and had none. He died a year ago, so I’m naming my two after my parents. I worry about this nest because it’s in a high traffic area. We’ll see how it goes.
