Nesting Diaries

04/17/2023 by lost_bird
The nest appeared much more built-up than last time, and there were two birds observed either both on the nest, or one in the nest and one perched on a nearby branch.

04/17/2023 by lost_bird
The female appears to be incubating.

04/09/2023 by lost_bird
A new nest is under construction in the same tree as the one last year that was blown off. Observed one osprey on the nest who must have arrived in the past week or so.

07/30/2022 by lost_bird
Sorry to report that the nest must have blown down since the last time we were there about 3 weeks ago. Not sure how many chicks were there or whether any survived. Two birds were seen in the tree today where the nest used to be (per photo), and a 3rd osprey flying nearby.

07/09/2022 by lost_bird
Could not get a clear photo but looked like the female was tending to at least one chick in the nest.

05/05/2022 by lost_bird
Saw the male in a tree eating a fish, then he delivered it to the nearby nest (see pics).

04/06/2022 by lost_bird
Saw both birds on the nest yesterday, also another male in the vicinity.

09/26/2021 by lost_bird
Saw two ospreys there on Sept. 17

05/23/2021 by lost_bird
Saw the female on the nest and the male wading in the water for a while before returning to the nest.

04/24/2021 by lost_bird
Haven't been there for about 3 weeks, and in the meantime the birds have arrived, set up the nest, and the female is incubating!

04/02/2021 by lost_bird
No nest activity or osprey sightings yet.
