I got out on the flats today by boat and there were three fledglings on the nest and taking flight.

checked the nest today; still only can be pretty sure of two chicks

07/17/2022 by jmac
hard to see because it is so far from land, but it appears at least two nestlings

07/04/2022 by jmac

NJSA installed a platform near this location and there is a pair building a nest on it

07/27/2021 by jmac
We went out by boat to check on this site. A platform has been installed nearby and a nest of sticks placed on it, but the pair was still perched on the site of the original nest

06/20/2021 by jmac
The structure seems to be gone, with just the base left and there were some sticks on the platform, but not much of a nest.

I went past this nest yesterday on the NJ Turnpike and got a good look. No nest unfortunately

04/04/2021 by jmac
It appears the nest is gone but there was an adult at the nest

I have found a place from a county park where I can see this nest, probably fairly well with a scope. I could see a couple of Ospreys on the nest with my 600mm lens on my camera.

I got a report from someone who was out in the marsh on a kayak (Chris Takacs) who reports what he thinks are two nestlings.

This is a new nest built on the MERI CO2 station. It appears that there are young but they are still too small to see at this great distance.
