Nesting Diaries
They have all fledged! On Aug 6, I suspected one had fledged because I only noticed 2 little ones and mom at the best. Now today I can confirm all 3 have. They would go out for a little and come back. Dad was also spotted dropping off some food. Did not see mom
Did a quick check after the storm...nest is still there. Pretty sure they little ones are all there but were laying low in the nest. Mom or dad was on a tree next to it
Did a quick check to see how the nest held up after the strong storm that came through in the middle of the night. All were accounted for (mom and dad included). One of the little ones is testing out those wings and getting air time in the nest.
Observed the male dropping off food for the chicks and female. First time in a couple weeks I spotted him since he doesn't stay at the nest long. The chicks look to be 2 females and 1 male.
Observed mom feeding and the chicks grabbing their own food. They are stretching their wings here and there. Also spotted 2 other Osprey get a little too close for the female's liking. (Side note: I spotted 4 other Osprey in the distance flying/hunting together.)
3 hatchlings observed for the first time
This pair has been spotted since early April. They made a nest in mid April on a utility pole that has a platform at the top.
