Nesting Diaries
Marge I reports: Good news! Both birds are back. They were together. One in the nest. One on the side. Then one flew away. My birds are back. So excited.
Marge I reports:
No activity but I have my holing friends looking out too
Marge I reports: Nest intact. I did not see or hear any but a gal I golfed with said she heard a large bird in the tree one day. I did see an Osprey flying around on hole number 6 which is the next one. Both have lagoons. Will check again in a few days.
Marge I reports: Nest still present , messy, no birds seen or heard
Marge I. reports that the nest is still there to start the 2023 season
Marge I reports: Junior was still in the nest. Calling out a lot. NOTE: We believe he has fledged but still returns to the nest in hopes of being fed by the adults.
Marge I reports: At first, I did not see anything. But then the youngster popped out of the nest onto a branch. It started calling out a lot. Hoped to see the parents but a storm was coming so I did not linger very long.
Marge I reports: Juvenile sitting on a branch next to the nest preening. Did not see adults.
Marge I reports: Junior was sitting in the nest today calling out a lot. Will try and get back at different times to see if he or she moves out or if the parents show up.
Marge I reports: Youngster sitting in the nest. Just hanging out. Not vocalizing. Did not see or hear parents.
Marge I reports: One bird in nest. Calling out a lot. Definitely smaller. We are both pretty sure it was the juvenile. Tried to get a better look with the scope but it did not help . Trying to check eye color. I was hoping a parent would fly in. It seems like they did have one this year.
Marge I reports: Saw one bird, probably female in the nest. She called out a couple times. I thought I briefly saw the flash of a wing from a second bird. Maybe the juvenile.
Marge I reports: I had to view from the road today. Clearly the mother was tending to her chick. She was moving around a lot including spreading her wings out several times. I hope junior will pop out of the nest at some point.
Marge I reports: I saw two birds. One was sitting on the edge. The other was in the nest kind of sideways. Possibly feeding the baby? At some point I hope to see all three . I do believe it is a family.
NOTE: Based on observations, we are assuming there is at least 1 nestling in the nest we are not able to see yet.
Marge I reports: On 05/23 one bird, I assume Momma, sitting upright in the nest calling out several times.
NOTE: Based on these observations, we are guessing that hatching took place between May 11 and May 24. The date of May 19th is just a guess partway between the observations.
Marge I reports: When I checked on May 11, I did not see anything at first. Then one bird flew out and briefly flew around the nest and flew back in. Unfortunately that golf course will be shut down so my golf friends cannot help. But I can still drive there and walk over.

NOTE: Based on this, we are assuming that both have fledged.

Marge I reports: One in nest. Second flying around.
Marge I reports: One Osprey on edge. Flew off. Came back and landed in a tree Fairly confident another is deep in this nest
Marge and Dave I report: One Osprey flew into the nest with a fish. But then flew back out with the fish and perched on a tree. We think a second bird is on eggs. Just not sure
