Paul K reports: No activity during February.

Paul K reports: Both osprey remain active around nest. Female (?) was sitting in nest when I arrived March 4 but started making noise and popped up on a branch once she heard us. Nest appears ready as we haven’t seen them bringing in material since late February.

02/16/2021 by CarolC
Paul K reports: At 11 am on February 16 both parents seen circling and land 5-10’ from nest. Both stayed for at least 10 minutes. Also been reported by a friend that male seen bringing fish to nest in last few days.

02/01/2021 by CarolC
Paul K. reports: One osprey on nest today. Arrived today I assume as I was there yesterday. Looked like the female (smaller) and was working on the nest.

Note: we don not have enough firm data on this nest to verify that there was a chick who fledged. The best we can do is to indicate there may have been a chick but we cannot confirm it fledged. If the incubation date was in the ballpark, the chick should have fledged in June/early July and be gone by now.

Paul K reports: Haven't seen the osprey at the nest for several weeks. Something is making noise there.

Paul K reports: One parent still visible near nest on June 1

05/31/2020 by CarolC
Paul K. reports:Both parents very noisy during May. Seems like I heard some chicks around May 15-20 NOTE: Based on this observation, we indicate at least one nestling. We can update this when we can confirm the number.

04/16/2020 by CarolC
Paul K reports: Mom settled in nest with much spanish moss dangling off the nest. Male - circling this am keeping the crows away. NOTE: Based on this report, we assume incubation is underway, but we do not know the date. April 1 is simply a guess.

Paul K. reports both osprey perched by the nest. Two photos provided.

Brady reports: Both osprey at nest fixing it up

Brady H reports: Still have only been able to identify one young. Flying and I expect it to be gone any time now.

Brady H reports: Nest 7455: Nest is still active and I know there are chicks. However, I still have not been able to establish how many just yet. I believe they are behind in development due to the fact they had a late start to incubation due to their nest being taken by the Great Horn Owl. Therefore, the chicks aren't large enough to be seen over the edge of the nest just yet.

Brady H reports: Nest has young Osprey. Again due to nest location can not tell the number of young at this time or be sure of the time eggs hatched. NOTE: Based on this observation, we will "guess" that hatching took place about 4/20, but that is just a guess.

Brady H. found this nest on 3/20/2019. new Osprey nest in Wexford Plantation. They are just finishing it up and does not seem to have laid eggs yet. But have I seen both Osprey at the nest and working on it. Interesting thing is the nest is only about 150-200 yards as the crow flies (Osprey flies-LOL) from the Great Horn Owl's nest in Wexford Plantation. I suppose it is fair to surmise that they could be the Osprey that had their nest taken over by the Owls, if in fact, the Osprey nest was an active nest!
