Steve J reports: I have been checking on the above nest. I believe I previously reported seeing 2 young healthy fledglings in the next a month or so ago. Recently I have not seen any activity except for this morning I saw an Osprey standing on a limb above the nest. That being said there seems to be 4 Osprey flying in the general area.
NOTE: Based on several observations of 4 osprey by the nest, we feel confident two are the youngsters who have fledged. While we cannot give the precise date the first fledged, we are guessing it was probably about early July and the date picked of 7/8 is simply a guess.
Steve J reports: I have been checking on 7442 daily for the past wk.
I really have not seen much activity. Approx 2 1/2 wks ago I did see 2 healthy looking Pretty big chicks in the nest. But nothing since.
I have been hearing a lot of Osprey chirping in the area. Today I saw 4 above flying high.
No clue if that would be my guys or not.
NOTE: Based on the previous observations and timing, it is very possible that two of the four flying around could be the youngsters who have fledged. There seems to be enough info to assume this is correct.
Steve J reports: Mom and Dad were above the nest and very visible were 2 young Osprey in the nest.
Steve J reports: An Osprey was visible on the nest each time I visited.
I would say nest #7442 the Osprey was higher and more visible.
NOTE: This observation could mean that the egg(s) hatched and there is a nestling in the nest. We will wait before concluding that.
Steve J reports: I have been checking a lot recently and most of the visits I see an Osprey on the nest.
Steve J reports: I have confirmed twice in the past few days an Osprey is on the nest.
Steve J reports: Hill golf Course Leamington 3rd green, 4th tee
The last 2 evenings I have seen an Osprey in the middle of the nest. Can barely see her but she is there. NOTE: Based on this, we believe that incubation has begun. We will estimate it as starting the 27th.
Steve J reports: I also saw 2 Osprey, one above the nest on a branch, the other standing beside the nest.
Jin and Larry report: We spotted this nest and thought it might be a new one. Here is what we saw: 3/6/21 3:45 pm: an osprey chirping and flying with a twig over the lagoon to the nest, and another one following.
3/6/21 5:15 pm: male osprey standing on the branch above the nest, female standing closed to the nest.
NOTE: This nest is monitored but I added this additional info.
Steve J reports: I am happy to say Mom and Dad are back. They are perched on a limb above the nest.
Steve J reports:
No Activity but the nest looks healthy.
Nobody in the nest for a couple of wks. Assume no need to report until next season.
Steve J reports .....nest has been empty lately. fledgings.
Steve J reports: I have been watching this nest also for the past several days/wk. I am guessing there are 2 Fledglings Hutch who is more of a birder than
I am confirms there are 2 Fledgings.
Steve J reports: #7442 I would say every time for the past 4 days) an Osprey was sitting/standing on the side of the nest.
I did not see any feeding going on at nest.
Steve J reports: I have checked on the next the last 2 days. One of the Ospreys seemed to be sitting high in the nest and or on the side of the nest. Today the other Osprey was on a branch above the nest. NOTE: Based on this observation and the previous reports, we are assuming that the eggs have hatched. May 1 is just a guess. we are recording 1 nestling but will change that once they are bigger and we can confirm the number.
Steve J reports: #7442 Osprey on nest, last time I looked the Osprey was standing on the side. This time sitting on the nest.
Steve J reports: #7442......Osprey is standing on side of the nest. Could that mean an egg has hatched? NOTE: We will wait for further confrmation before deciding if we have had hatching.
Steve J reports: I have checked on 3 times in the past wk and can see the mom on the nest each time.
Steve J reports: #7442 An Osprey has been visible on the next the past 3 times I have looked.
Steve J reports: Re: nest 7442
A couple of checks I did not see the Osprey. Today one Osprey was on the nest. NOTE: We will assume she is incubating eggs.
Steve J reports: Yesterday I noticed 2 Osprey in/around Nest #7442. One was flying back with a fish.
Steve J reports: checked the past 2 days......did not see any activity.
Steve J reports: On 1 occasion I saw again what I think is the fledging on the side of the next.
Steve j reports: I have been watching the nest the past few days. I am confident there is 1 baby (at least). I will continue to watch.
Steve J reports: I have been watching nest #7442 and 7531. Actually the same report for both. The parents seem to be very attentive......standing on the side of the nests and or in the tree above/around the nest. I can see a small head peeping above in both nests.
NOTE: Based on this report, we will indicate at least 1 nestling. Based on both this and the May 6 report, we will estimate that the eggs hatched about May 6th.
Steve J reports: I checked on Nest 7442 yesterday. There was an adult Osprey in the nest. It kind of looked like the adult was on the side of the nest
Steve J observes: I don’t know if this is meaningful or not but the last 2 days the Osprey on the nest seems to be moving around in the nest more. NOTE: This may indicate the eggs have hatched.
Steve J observes: I checked on Nest #7442 this afternoon.
I could see the head of an Osprey on the nest. That is about all I could see.
Steve J reports: This morning I saw both Osprey near the nest. This afternoon I can see the head of an Osprey on the nest.
NOTE: Based on Steve's report that he can barely see the head in the nest, we are making the assumption that there is incubation occurring.
Steve J reports: . It is a beautiful large nest. The past 2 days I did not see any activity.
observer Steve J reports: 2 Ospreys were on a limb above the nest. I then noticed one Osprey bring back a branch/twig to the nest...assuming still, building the nest.
