Nesting Diaries

05/21/2021 by Dave Gibson
Observed for a few minutes early on 5/16 from the top of the new Pointdexter St. Bridge.

08/27/2019 by Dave Gibson
The nest is empty. I assume the nestlings have fledged.

07/07/2019 by Dave Gibson
Observed what looked like 2 adults and 1 chick in the nest.

06/12/2019 by Dave Gibson
Observed this afternoon. Frequently vocalizing female was on rim of nest, and there were at least 2 chicks in the nest.

05/08/2019 by Dave Gibson
Female appears to still be on eggs. It's amazing, the activity and noise around this nest.

04/23/2019 by Dave Gibson
Female is hunkered down in nest and male is 'standing guard."

04/21/2019 by Dave Gibson
I've ignored the nest, but it appears that this nest is indeed occupied (!), despite all the construction going on all around it. Among other things, the bridge below the tower is being completely demolished.

08/11/2018 by Dave Gibson
Observed late am. One juvenile on corner of tower and one on nest. Much vocalizing. I assume both have fledged at this point.

07/22/2018 by Dave Gibson
Observed for a few moments. It appeared there was one adult on the nest, and it was vocalizing.

06/15/2018 by Dave Gibson
Observed late in the day. Female stayed on rim. Are there hatchlings within nest?

05/31/2018 by Dave Gibson
Discovered today. Female on nest in super high tower, and she appears to be incubating. Interesting location in that the river is about 1 mile away on either side. Thank goodness for telephoto lenses--and cropped frame DSLR's!
