On my way from the post office i heard the high pitched whistling sound of an osprey. I looked up and sure enough, an osprey was sitting in the beginnings of a new nest! The sidewalk was scattered with twigs and branches. A neighbor in a third story apartment hung out the window as I photographed the nest and remarked that they hoped to keep it a secret. This was the first warm day (about 80 degrees) after a long winter. I am posting here to make it possible for the bird(s) to have a successful nest. I will follow up periodically.
