Trail 3

Located about 60 feet up in a white birch tree. 1 Osprey was sited 8/1/16 circling in sky and landed in a pine tree, calling. Was heard again on 8/6/16, but not sited. Nest was found 8/8/16. Nest is approx 3 feet across and about 2.5 feet deep. Heavy forest with mix of pine, birch, poplar and maple. Trout brook with beaver pond with beaver damn less than 1/4 mile from nest, and two man-made dams within 1 mile from nest. Larger Monson pond is approx 3 miles from nest and Aroostook river is about 2.5 miles from nest.
