Nesting Diaries
Pair arrived on site 3/27/23. Observed tending to nest and copulating on 4/12/23. A lot of territorial disputes due to multiple pairs on site without nests.
Juveniles still observed on site and occasionally visiting the nest.
Juveniles have been hanging out around nest, perching on power poles and fencing nearby. Parents are still fishing for them but are showing juveniles how to.
Chicks seen less in nest on game camera. They had been sitting/perching more on edge of nest and huddling towards the middle when parents would call out when a human was nearby. As of 7/17, they appear to now be fledging and spending time out of the nest.
Three chicks, all lively and appear healthy. Fledging expected around 7/16.

On 5/12/22, three eggs were observed in the nest via game camera image.
Both osprey were observed tending to nest on 5/9/22. One was seen on ground, and the other left the nest shortly after. One returned to incubate during observation period.
Two eggs possible. Nest has been incubated consistently in all photos, so difficult to tell if another egg was laid. Photograph from 5/4/22 shows what looks like two eggs underneath an incubating parent.

Osprey are spending little to no time at their nest and instead venturing off. The last camera capture was August 23rd. The juvenile was pictured in the nest at 12 pm.
Juvenile is hanging with parents but learning to make longer flights on his own.
Our chick has fledged! It has been spending time over at the nearby abandoned nest.
Nestling is perching on nest, flapping and extending wings. Very close to full grown.

Removed old nesting materials from platform and installed game cameras
Both Ospreys seen at nest and started rebuilding nest with sticks.
Likely high winds damaged the nest, causing much of it to fall to the ground. One Osprey still noted hanging around but other adult not seen.

The chicks have hatched! Osprey adult was first seen off the nest on 6/8 and was seen with food at the nest 6/9, presumably feeding chicks.
Osprey Pair continues to incubate the nest! Nest is due to hatch around June 9th.
Pair observed incubating! Camera was disabled from April 26- May 2 so laid during that period.
Osprey recently brought in a few trash items (plastic bags, mesh tarp) for nesting material. No eggs yet!

1 osprey observed circling nest, flying nearby nest.
Both male and female osprey were observed in nest, after a few minutes of observation osprey flew out of nest and were seen circling the nest with a third osprey.
Based on game camera photos, this is the last time the eggs are seen in the nest. The eggs are almost completely white with some faded brown speckles.

One osprey was observed sitting on top of game camera pole, above nest. Second osprey was observed flying over nearby lake.

Based on game camera photos, two eggs were laid before or on June 1, 2016. The eggs are white with dark brown speckles.
1 osprey (likely female) was observed in nest. Osprey stayed in nest entire observation time, which let us to believe there are eggs in the nest.
Observed nest from 9:30-9:50am. While no osprey were seen in the nest, 2 osprey (1 male, 1 female) were observed flying around nest as well as out along ocean and over adjacent fields.
A pair of Osprey are on the nest. They appear to be adults and may be the ones from their old nest nearby.

Osprey platform installed on pole in the hopes of luring the current tenants of nest 5085 off the live wires. We tried to entice them with nest material on the platform. We set up two game cameras to take pics.
