In 2011, the nest had 3 successful chicks. Unfortunately, fireworks killed the mother, who landed in the nest, on July 1/2 2011. The father, with help from other nearby Osprey raised all 3 chicks to maturity. Hoping nest is used in 2012. Google Amherstview Osprey for more details.

A marked change in behaviour and posture. Only left the crouching position to chase off smaller birds around the nest, and very vocal at my presence. Only one Osprey observed during the 20 minute observation.

Went out today and the male osprey had a female partner. His previous partner had been killed last year. Both observed gathering nest supplies and flying together.
