Nesting Diaries
Oh dear! Last weeks storm destroyed the nest. The dead tree snapped in two. Thankfully all four osprey are safe, and they continue to gather at a nearby tree.
So excited to watch both chicks practicing flying, then returning to the nest. Both are doing very well. A great blue heron nest nearby has two new fliers as well.
So excited to see both chicks today! They are getting stronger, turning their heads like mom and dad. So glad to see them both.
Mom sitting on nest. Dad on nearby branch as usual.
Yippee! The two have set up quite a nice nest. Now we wait...
Good news! I spotted Junior on a nearby tree. So this nest produced one , just like last year.
I spotted a chick 6/6/2015 and was so excited to see the family growing. Darn though, I saw the chick one or times after that, and now I don't see him anymore. both adults are still active in the area, and sit on the nest, but no chicks!
Visited Friday and Sunday 5/23/2015. So excited to watch the two adults. Can wait for the chicks.
One adult is sitting on the nest. One is close by. Visited 5/5/2015, 5/3/2015. Survived the wind storm!
Visited this week several times. Boh adults active on he nest.
I visited the nest Friday afternoon. One adult always sitting on nest, one nearby. Fingers crossed! This nest had one chick last year.

Visited the nest today. Very windy. One adult present, but she was calling.
I visited the nest yesterday (3/29/2015) after a miserable week of bad weather. Both adults were present, and busy.
Visited again this afternoon, 3/25. Female at the nest, male in nearby tree eating fish. The nest continues to grow.
My mom and I visited th nest yesterday. It's about. a mile walk from th parking lot, but my 94 year old mom wanted to watch. Nest building continues.
I visited the site early today. Both adults were there. Nest is growing. They got a late start!
I watched this nest last year, and it was late compared to other FLSP nests. One chick was hatched, and I watched him/her all season. The pics I posted this year are of the first adult arrival (3/15/2015) and then two adults observed 3/19/2015. Let the games begin!
Visited the nest today, and started taking pics of nest to see how it's growing. Two adults at nest again today.
