Pole was cut down in July 2016
Due to electrocution hazard, nest was moved to adjacent osprey platform (nest 5711) on 30 Nov. 2015 under NJDEP permit DC2015065
One juvenile osprey observed in nest throughout morning, later in morning a large truck was idling near the nest and osprey moved to nearby pole until truck left.
One osprey (juvenile) observed sitting in nest entire length of observation. No adult osprey were seen in nest or around site.
Osprey observed early in the morning flying over the beach toward the ocean. No ospreys were seen in the next during the time of observation.
1 fledgling in nest. Female in nest- then circled nest for several minutes. Returned to nest briefly before leaving again. 2nd adult osprey observed on nearby telephone pole, remained perched there the entire observation time.
2 osprey observed circling nest and 1 fledgling in nest.
Both adult osprey in nest entire length of observation time. 1 fledgling see in nest.
2 osprey observed. Male stands on post nearby the nest with a fish then flies away within 2 minutes into length of observation time. Female is in the nest the entire time with a sighting of two chicks.
Observed 1 male osprey circling nest. Circled several times then picked up trash in nearby field.
2 osprey were observed. Female stayed inside nest entire length of observation. Male flew in about 3 minutes into observing nest, perched on pole just outside nest, and remained there for the duration of the observation time.

Ospreys tried to establish a nest in the same pole in 2013, but it fell apart early in construction. This year they did a better job.
