Nesting Diaries

Two chicks observed on the nest with the female while the male was perched nearby. Met a gentleman who visits the site regularly and he had observed on 2 different occasions a mouse being brought to the nest. Though highly unusual this would represent the 1% of the ospreys' diet. Too bad he did not have his camera at the time but promises to send me pics of any other interesting activity. Thank you, John!

Shortly after arriving at the site, the female flew into the nest ending the male's turn at incubating.

Found the male perched on an adjacent pole eating a fish, eventually delivering it to his mate who subsequently flew off with it to the same perch.

Female appears to be incubating.

Arrived to find female in residence fish chirping.

This nest failed in 2013. There were signs of bonding in April but returning to the site a month later, there was grass growing on the nest and no sign of the pair.
