This nest is situated across from a new and very busy retail development park. I initially referred to it as the “Walmart Nest” – some of my osprey friends will recognize that name – as it was one of the first retailers to move into this park.

Talk about timing! Just as I got to the nest site, the male flew to the nest with dinner :) The female was observed feeding chick(s).

Arrived to find the pair at home. The gentleman who owns a wood lot next to the nest informed me that they both returned about mid-morning.

On April 21, 2013, I observed the pair engaged in a territorial distribute with another osprey. It would seem no one claimed victory as the nest was later found to be abandoned.
