Pat R. reports - the nest seems to be gone

03/20/2022 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Today I checked nest #4667 Hover Park and still a bare beam – no sign of nest building or ospreys in the sky. So disappointed since I’ve had that nest for so many years and have seen so much activities with good photos to show for it.

03/05/2022 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Report from Saturday, March. 5th. Nest 4667 at Hover Park still shows no sign of activity. Completely bare platform and no ospreys flying around.

02/25/2022 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Hover Park #4667 shows no life yet. Not one leaf of a nest is apparent. Activity there as been late in the past but this is the first year that I haven’t seen a little of the old nest left.

Pat R reports: June 29, I watched Nest 4667 at Hover Park for about 15 minutes and saw nothing. Also checked that last week for a short time and saw nothing. Not even Ospreys circling in the distant sky that I usually see. Don’t know where everyone is or if they are still around. First year I haven’t seen the babies or can be certain that there are some.

06/19/2021 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Earlier this week checked Nest 4667 at Hover Park and saw nothing for a long time, but then an adult flew beside the nest and just sat there.

05/16/2021 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Saw activity from one adult on nest # 4667 Hoover Park. After about 10 minutes on 5/14 of no activity or sight of anyone, an adult rose up, shook, and flew off for just a couple of minutes. It arrived back, or I assume it was the same one, in just a few minutes, landed on the nest, and groomed itself for quite some time until I had to leave. No sign of caring for babies.

04/30/2021 by CarolC
Pat R reports: An adult sitting there deep in the nest with only the top of its white head showing. One osprey did rise up and spread its wings for a few seconds which was the only way I would have seen that it was up there. NOTE: Based on this observation, we will guess that incubation is underway. We cannot verify the start, but are simply guessing mid April

03/19/2021 by CarolC
Pat R reports: I observed an osprey sitting on the taters of nest 4667 at Hover Park. During the 15 minutes I watched it pooped out of the nest, spread and flapped its wings but never seemed to be working on the nest. Saw several flying in the distance but no one came to help.

03/08/2021 by CarolC
Pat R reports: nest 4667 (Hover Park) has had no action and the old nest is in shreds. Did see 5 osprey circling in the distance, but think there is some action going on in a nest on a pole with a satellite dish in a different direction from where I saw the ospreys.

07/24/2020 by CarolC
Pat reports: The juvenile has fledged and the nest has been empty when I have checked.

07/14/2020 by CarolC
Par R reports: I checked for about 15 minutes #4667 and saw just one good sized one with white spots moving around in the nest. NOTE: This is the juvenile.

06/23/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Had a first time experience today checking on Nest #4667 Hover Park. Saw a big Osprey sitting, standing, moving around on the nest and thought I saw what could be a little head sticking out every now an then, but not sure. Then a fuzzy body emerged from under the big one, moved it’s butt over to the edge and whoff! A big spray shot out over the edge to outer space. I saw an osprey chick poop over the side of the nest. How well trained it was! I didn’t know they did that, but it certainly makes sense. How fun to see that!

06/06/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports: A good sized osprey is on the nest at 4667 Hover Park. It sat looking around, flexing it’s wings a bit but not spreading them. I did see the beak moving when I heard sounds from there. I was there almost 25 minutes and saw only two others circling together way up in the sky nearer the distant tower that has a nest in which I could see two bodies moving around with my binoculars.

05/31/2020 by CarolC
Based on the last couple reports, we are listing 1 nestling. We will update that once we can be sure how many there are. While we can not be sure when hatching took place, we are simply guessing.

05/29/2020 by CarolC
Mollie K reports: Mollie's nest is not far from this one so she noticed the following while checking her nest: The nest by first Presbyterian had a mama bringing a fish to baby but then it looked like she then flew off with the fish.

05/23/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports:I just saw one sitting in the middle of the nest looking around. Not much excitement .

05/18/2020 by CarolC
Pat R. reports: I checked nest 4667 Hover Park for about 20 minutes. At first just saw an osprey head sitting in the nest. The head moved around during that time but did not move from the spot. After about 10 minutes another osprey flew in for just a couple of seconds. Since I was trying to get my camera ready to take a photo I didn’t see what it did in those few seconds so also didn’t get a photo. After that osprey left the head in the nest stayed pretty much the same so didn’t see it doing any feeding.

Pat R reports: One osprey sitting on the nest

04/17/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Was disappointed at first to see nothing, but after about 10 minutes an osprey flew in and just landed for a while. I didn’t see it bring any food or do any feeding. Hope to see chicks soon.

03/24/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports: At last I see activity on my nests. Hover Park #4667 today had one land on the nest, sit awhile, look around and around, ruffle it’s feathers and lift it’s tail a couple of times. I started at about 10:30 for about 15 minutes with no activity and then after it landed for about 15 minutes.

03/10/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Checked this nest #4667 Hover Park about 10:45 this morning and still saw no action. The nest looks thinner all the time.

02/24/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports: no activity on Feb. 24. Nest is even more in tatters.

02/07/2020 by CarolC
Pat R reports: I checked Nest #4667 at Hover Park yesterday, Feb 7, for about 15 minutes at 10:45. No activity at nest which looks like the dregs from last year, however, I did see 4 osprey flying around although never very near the nest.

07/26/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Have stopped monitoring nest #4667 which looked to be active for a while, but never saw the babies if there were any.

07/20/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Yesterday and today and saw no activity at or near the nest. I think whatever was in those nests (lots of past activity with the adult birds, but no baby sightings) has moved on out. We believe that this nest was not productive this year.

06/28/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Nest 4667 Hover Park on Mon. 6-24 and today 6- 28. Both times unfortunately did not see anything going on in the nest. Saw several ospreys flying high in the background, but not too close to the nest.

06/15/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Observed Nest 4667, Hover Park, Saturday, June15 for about 20 minutes around 2:30. Just saw one adult sitting on the nest. At first it appeared she could be feeding or attending to something below her in the nest, but then she just sat looking around. No other adult sighted.

05/30/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Observed my #4667 Hover Park nest today for about 20 minutes. Adult still sitting on nest but at a higher level than previously. It did spread its wings one time but the rest of the time it just looked around. Saw nothing else.

05/21/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Watched Osprey Nest 4667 Hover Park for about 20 minutes today. Saw one adult only sitting on the nest.

05/11/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports:Watched Osprey Nest #4667 Hover Park for about 20 minutes today and still saw only one adult head sticking up from the nest and constantly looking around.

05/02/2019 by CarolC
Pat R. reports: As of 11:00 this morning I saw only one adult sitting on the nest pecking around the inside. Occasionally it would look around as to try to spot the mate bringing supplies. After 15 minutes no dice and I had to leave. Hope to see baby ospreys soon. NOTE: we are guessing that incubation started sometime recently.

04/17/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Hover Park, yesterday and saw both ospreys on the cross beam that holds the nest. Didn’t see anything happening in the nest yet except parents repairing some parts.

03/27/2019 by CarolC
Obersver Pat R. reports: I have Lovebirds! Today, finally, I saw two adult ospreys land on the nest and mess around for about a minute. Then one left and the other stayed. I’m so thrilled. I think they’re ready to make a home at nest #4667, Hoover Park.

03/21/2019 by CarolC
Pat R reports: Checked my Osprey Nest #4667, Hover Park, today, March 21st, and still no activity----and it’s the first day of Spring –so sad!

all 2018 observations by Pat R.

05/23/2018 by CarolC
observer Pat R. reports: My nest behind the First Pres.Church parking lot on the beam had two heads sticking up with an adult flying away – so I have to assume that they are babies. I only saw two heads so I’ll keep an eye out to see if any more show up in the future.

05/06/2018 by CarolC
observer reports: My nest still has an adult sitting on the nest.

05/06/2018 by CarolC
the incubation date of 5/1 is simply a guess.
