Nesting Diaries
3/27/23 No one home today, heard no vocalizations. Witnessed Several Osprey flying in the area.Hard to see directly into Nest - sides are very high.
3:20PM - adult Osprey (female? - with necklace) at the nest. 44°F and sunny
12:02 PM One flew into and sat on nest, and second Osprey flew in and landed at adjacent cell tower. Navy jets, that I love, went screaming overhead numerous times. Each time the jet noise subsided, multiple birds species sang - seemingly unaffected by the jets, and determined to belt out their messages! 69°F, sunny and winds E at 12 mph)
7:57 AM Adult osprey in TALL nest. hope to get back by for photo - to show to show nest height's difference from last year (56°F)
8:15 AM Two adult ospreys in nest. Possibly copulating. Only had quick glance from I-264 (48°F)
2.44pm adult perched at cell tower again, directly beside nest platform. Nest appeared to be empty, but it’s especially tall
1:50pm: Adult at TALL nest. 84°F
8:14am: silence when I arrived, then peeping starting from inside nest and never stopped. Osprey landed at nest with food in its talons.
