Description
This nest is a platform on top of a power pole along the entrance road to Back Bay national Wildlife Refuge. The nest has been there for about 20 years. There was a fire on this utility pole on Thanksgiving day 2014. The osprey platform was damages and removed by Dominion Virginia Power. A separate pole and platform were installed by DVP and BBNWR on Feb 3, 2015.

3/23/23 - Not sure when they returned, I did not see fresh nesting material as of my last visit on 3/05/23. Both in the nest today, and I ssaw fresh nesting material: unfortunately there is plastic in the nest, last year I saw goggles. Female went to try to fish while I was there. Very windy, 74 degree day. New photos shared here.
