Nesting Diaries

I was on base today and we drove by the track and lo and behold one of the Osprey flew in and landed on this pole. I posted here because I figured it was the Osprey from this nest. Also want to notate that the base decided to pull the nest out of this stand. So they will most likely rebuild. Makes no sense seeing they left the nest intact directly across from this one. they also pulled out the nesting materials from the other pole in the same area.

will try to count chicks in nest this weekend. this area has 4 nest in 1/4mile circumference of each other. Lots of activity with the adults flying, perching around each other. 1 time we counted 14 adults just flying around and roosting this area.
