Nesting Diaries

Things got quite exciting today at the park. There were actually four Ospray flying around and dive bombing each other.Come to find out as is usually the case, one had a fish in its talons. So exciting to watch them. The pair seem determined to nest at this sight. Will be intersting to watch.

I noticed an Ospray at this park about three weeks ago.Did not see it everyday, maybe two or three times a week. There are at least three flood lights that have nesting material hanging from them.Today I saw an actual pair, one bringing nesting material to one specific light.I don't know how serious they are about finishing the nest, seems late, but guess they have their own agenda. Will continue to watch them, they are not even a mile from my home. The park is used every weekend,so don't know how the birds will get along.

The single bird picture is a shot of the first time I saw a bird their. They obviously had been there before because of nesting material hanging from several floodlights. As you can see there is not much there in the way of a nest.
