Nesting Diaries

After seemingly losing their egg(s) around 4/29 the pair is spending the majority of their time in nest 175-B-021 located about 300 yards north. They still have a presence in this nest but it doesn't appear to be their primary summer home anymore.

Robert is free from plastic. If anyone doesn't think single use plastics are an enormous problem look no further than an Osprey nest.

04/22/2019 by Paradise
It looks like Robert has plastic tangled around him. Not sure if it is inhibiting his flying so we'll keep an eye on him to see if he can shed himself of it

We've come to know our pair as Robert and Cora. In the latest photo, Robert is on the post.

Mom arrived today looking fantastic. I don't think she's happy that their summer home smells like seagull.

He's back! Looking better than ever. Has some work to do around the house. About 13 days earlier than last year.

Dad flew south after hanging out solo for a few days. The nest is officially closed for the season. There are a couple of Ospreys still in the area but most have left for their winter climes.

Flying like a champ

Testing wings today. Awaiting first flight

Hatchling in the house! Walking around the nest pretty confidently. Must be a month old by now. First saw him/her yesterday although we figured they had a new one in there by all their activity.

Hard to see, but she's hunkered down in the nest. Hopefully incubation is in full swing.

Fresh fish for breakfast. Still wriggling.
