Nesting Diaries
Confirmed juvenile! There is a juvenile perched on the cell tower just under the nest.
No adults seen at nest but wings are coming up from nest. This behavior is similar to the chick in nest #5711.
Saw one adult fly away, the other adult was perched outside the nest and wings came up from the nest. This is very good evidence for a chick in the nest.
Osprey renested here. Two adults are seen in nest daily. No chick is confirmed but suspected.
Cell tower owners removed nest in Dec 2020 as part of antenna upgrade. No osprey activity since.
Both Osprey have been sighted at the nest and bringing new nesting materials in.

This nest is at the southwest corner of the Sea Girt National Guard Camp. It appears to be active. Osprey were observed there the morning of June 22, 2018. I will try to get a photo and will update.
No ospreys observed on or near this nest at time of visit.

Osprey again observed sitting on transformer below nest. Osprey say for a few minutes, flew away and circled nest before returning to transformer.
1 male osprey observed sitting on transformer below nest. Remained on transformer for about 5 minutes before flying away (towards ocean).
Both male and female osprey observed sitting on antenna below nest level. Ospreys remained in this spot throughout observation.

Osprey believed to be in nest, hard to tell as it is so high and sun angle didn't allow for good view of nest.
No ospreys were observed in the nest, however one osprey (couldn't determine sex) was seen flying near nest several times throughout observation.

2 adult osprey observed at first one on transformer below nest, one circling nest. Third osprey flew close to nest and circling osprey attacked encroaching bird. Continued to follow/attack 3rd osprey for several minutes. Both flew away after a few minutes one returned and resumed circling.
2 osprey observed. 1 in nest one sitting on transformer near nest. Both remained in those positions to the duration of the observation period.

Observed two osprey circling nest area around 10:30 am. Neither osprey was observed landing in the nest.

This nest was established in 2005 after a cellular company installed the tower. It has fledged 2-3 chicks each year since.
