Nesting Diaries

I checked this tower earlier in the year and saw no osprey and no nesting material. I checked again on 7/26 after finding the start of a nest on the Knowlton Municipal Bldg tower earlier in the day! The Knowlton Municipal Building tower has also been unused for the last 4 years I have been watching so I was surprised to find a nest made only 3-4 weeks ago according to locals. This tower, however, is still completely without any sign of osprey or nesting material.

11:40 a.m. This tower has not had any sign of nesting or any osprey presence for the two years I have been observing it. Today, not only were there no nest sticks, but a hawk was perched on the tower!

I checked this tower again as I was in the area. No nesting materials on the tower, just a flock of vultures.

8:30 a.m. I saw no sign of any osprey in the area, nor any nesting material on the tower so I believe this nest site is not being used now. I will check back next time I am in the area.
