Nesting Diaries

04/23/2014 by edenonYork
We have a serious nest and two parents. Occasionally see two others fly by but no reaction from the pair on the nest.

03/14/2014 by edenonYork
Saw several Osprey (3 at one time) on the 9th of March. Since then only one seen several times a day just sitting or eating. No nest building activity. Am so afraid its mate is not returning. All of the nesting material was removed mostly by Cormorants and storms during the Fall and Winter. Fingers crossed that the mate will show up.

Three chicks - appear equal in size - heads can been seen above the edge of the nest.

08/16/2012 by edenonYork
Appears that all of the Osprey have left the area. Lots of chatter from them yesterday and observed one with a fish late in the day. No birds sighted at all today (8/15/12).

All three chicks are flying as well as two young visitors that showed up on the 7th and 8th respectively. All 5 chicks spent last night on the nest.

Better look at the nest today and saw a third head. All chicks seem very strong. Parents are very attentive - moreso than last year.
