Pair are attempting to build a nest on the bars of a boat lift. Is only about 500 feet from another nest. Doubt it will be successful. In May 2013 boat owner built an osprey platform nearby. By end June, no nesting or egg laying observed. The same has been observed in 2015 and 2016. Platform is ignored and both ends of a boat lift bar are used to attempt a nest. In 2016 a large nest resides at one end of the bar, but no egg laying or brooding has been observed. In 2015 a chick was hatched, amazingly, but it disappeared in a couple of weeks, probably falling into the water.

Nesting area since 2004. Originally nest was built on a boat top, preventing owner from using it all season. Platform built spring of 2005 and ospreys had to be convinced the platform and not the boat was for them. Only two years of unsuccessful hatchi

Platform placed on a dead tree left of the green of hole #15 at Broad Bay CC golf course. Apparently abandoned in mid-April. Ospreys originally here are "harassing" another brooding couple at a nearby nest.

Discovered by noticing 6 ospreys in the area at one time. Barely visible from our house, but definitely an active nest with at least one chick.
