Visible from 122 Whippoorwill Circle, Mashpee. Has had 6 or 7 productive years since being built in 2009. Initial year or two infertile eggs. One year Owl got chicks, one year unnamed predator got chicks.
(2018) New house constructed on island; osprey platform has been erected near where the natural nest used to be.
(2017) Nest no longer there. Tree is still there.
(2016) Very large natural nest, visible on island point, north side of channel bridge.
Nest was on utility pole on Rt. 149 at the Mill Pond spillway. Nest has been removed by utility company (April 2018). Birds attempted to nest, still observed in the area.
Nest platform well-built and nest active (April 2018). View from town way to water nearby. Monitoring camera on nest; local neighbor informs that the NY Dept of Environmental Conservation monitors the nest via a local college.
New nest being constructed at the top of a live tree. Many osprey occupy this area, which has been closed to the public due to an alleged Eagle's nest nearby.
Upstream from bridge, barely visible near right bank of river. Nest has been built on platform (2017). It's possible that the overhanging trees are close, but the site is in use.

Near end of Little River Road at edge of marsh across the street from the Cotuit Oyster Co. and opposite the Town Way to Water. Platform is on conservation easement.
This nest is on a communications tower ~70 ft. It was successful last year with fledged chicks. The nest survived Hurricane Irene. The ospreys returned on or about 3/28-29/2012 and have started to repair/add to the nest.

This nest was removed by workers in February, however, we all know that is to no avail. The birds returned March 28th and have done a wonderful job with a new nest up there.
Platform located on east side of road, south of Mashpee roundabout, on right side of powerline easement, about 300 yards from road (beyond nest #6259).
Failed nest for the past several years but I continue to monitor and hope! 2012 finally chicks! 2013 looks great as well, three eggs. 2013 yielded three eggs, one of which hatched and was then stolen by a predator :-(
