This nest was first reported in 2018 but according to the property owner had been in place for 2-3 years.

2018 - Property owned by David Babson. New nest found on an old wood stove which washed out of the camp after a storm in Jan 2018. Nest observed with one egg on 6/14/18. Nest failed. A platform was put up on Babson land in March 2019 to attract the pair away from the stove.
Nest discovered on 5-5-2018 on a stack of wood on side of camp. Observed with 3 eggs May 12, 2018. In April 2019 a new platform was installed near camp and the 2018 nest site removed.
New platform installed by Greenbelt with construction by Michael galli as an Eagle Scout project in March 2016. Replaces older platform along edge of salt marsh. No evidence of any nesting activity on older platform in 2012 or earlier. Older platform decommissioned.
Looking at Ram Island from Stone Pier, nest is between the two islands to the left of Ram Island. Flat platform, installed by KEA in Dec, 2007. Not active 2008. 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. Nest collapsed in July 2015, new platform installed in Sept. 2015 by Greenbelt.
Nest on a utility pole near a seasonal cottage near salt marsh. nest appears to have been active for a few years but only came to Greenbelt's attention late in the 2015 season.
This platform was installed by Bob Brophy, Essex resident, in the 1980s and was the first known active OSPR nest in Essex County in the mid 1980s. In the early years Bob thought productivity was low due to Great-horned owl predation on chicks but eventually the nest produced fledglings and certainly contributed to the beginning of the recovery of OSPR in the Great Marsh.
This platform is located on MA DCR land and was likely installed by DCR. It was visited by Greenbelt in April 2014 and an Osprey was observed on the nest. And it was apparent that it was an old nest that had been in use for multiple years.
These three platforms were built over 10 years ago on abandoned utility poles. Only one has been active; the one furtherest to the north or on the left in the photo. It was active in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
This platform was installed by the PRNWR staff c. mid-1990s. It is located off the southern end of the dike infront of the Bill Forward Pool and west of the Old Pines. This is nest with second pole next to it.
New platform installed by Essex County Greenbelt on Greenbelt salt marsh in 2011. Near where a pair of OSPR have nested on a duck blind for the past 3-4 years.
Older platform near end of Green Point Rd out on saltmarsh. Active for 5-8 years in 2000s. April 2011, 2012, 2013 - inactive but was observed with fresh nesting material on it on 6/6/13.
Two older platforms. Installation date unknown. No signs of activity. Neither platform appears very stable. In 2013 nesting material was placed on lower eastern most platform.
Platform installed by Greenbelt and MassWildlife in 1980's. Has been active for more than 5 years. Rebuilt by Greenbelt in March 2010. The 2013 adult male was previously banded in Duxbury, MA in 1998. One of the 2013 fledglings and the adult male were fitted with satellite transmitters.
