This is part of the Brighton Wastewater system. we have a hydro pole converted to a Osprey nest, this has been going for 4 years this will be the 5th, we have had 5 chick raised to flight, 3 females and 2 males
Nest has been relocated about 15 meters North west of last years location. A new post and platform were constructed. I believe that this was done to move the birds off of the current power line post.
Nest is built on top of an 80 foot pole. Birds have a clear view of the only road approach. Getting close to the pole unobserved is impossible. Pole is about 10 feet inland from the bank of the Trent River, near a power dam. I believe this pole was erected to keep the birds away from the more harmful power lines nearby.
