One of three nesting platforms located at Sycamore Landing, erected in 2007. A pair had been nesting on the metal roof of a community pier. They were not producing likely due to the heat of the metal or frequent disturbances by people using the pier. As soon as we put up this platform, they moved from the pier to the platform and successfully fledged chicks.

This is a long standing nest of many years. It's on a platform put up to stop the pair from nesting on a pole. They put an orange highway cone on the pole and erected the nest next to it. There is a large tidal river about a quarter mile from the nest.

Nest is entering 4th year, I believe; on top of cell tower behind the city yard and next to The Weatherwax, a marine forest. Within sight of freshwater lake and canals, and Pacific Ocean to the west. Generally hunts in fresh water, Duck Lake. Nest has had single fledgling each of the 4 yrs.

This nest has been on the bridge structure for at least 5 years. It is made of sticks and is about four feet in diameter.
