One of three nesting platforms located at Sycamore Landing, erected in 2007. A pair had been nesting on the metal roof of a community pier. They were not producing likely due to the heat of the metal or frequent disturbances by people using the pier. As soon as we put up this platform, they moved from the pier to the platform and successfully fledged chicks.

This is a long standing nest of many years. It's on a platform put up to stop the pair from nesting on a pole. They put an orange highway cone on the pole and erected the nest next to it. There is a large tidal river about a quarter mile from the nest.
