March 6, 2016-There is an osprey making a nest at this location. March 18-a pair of osprey were observed at this nest. The female is sitting on the nest most of the time, but occasionally leaves to hunt.

This nest is by two schools. Third grade Students and faculty at the elementary school have learned about the osprey from VMN members. All third graders have observed the nesting pair by 3/18/16.

Today at 5:45pm we observed a bird on the nest, a bird on a pole, and two birds flying around. This was a total of 4 osprey. When one of the birds flying tried to go to the nest, the bird on the nest chased it off.

This evening at 5:15 I observed 3 osprey on the nest with another adult perched on a nearby light pole. The 3 osprey on the nest were standing on top of the nest and flapping their wings like they were getting ready to fly. There are at least two juveniles.

The nest is difficult to observe because it is up so high. The last two weeks I have observed activity with an adult feeding at least one chick.

The pair appeared and started making the next on March 19, 2013. An osprey pair made a nest in this same location last year. It is difficult to observe because the lights are so tall. We can't see down into in.
