Nesting Diaries

One chick was raised and fledged in early August. Everybody headed south for the winter around Sept. 1.

Everybody was gone by Sept. 1 as usual

I heard the osprey calling and looked up to see him dive bombing a young Bald Eagle. At one point the eagle flipped upside down and they locked talons. The baby was in the nest freaking out. Have only seen two at the nest since, hope everybody is ok. I meant to check at dusk when they all tend to turn in for the night but I didn't.

Mama looks like she's sitting on eggs. Dad brought her breakfast this morning. Can't actually SEE if they have eggs.

They have rebuilt the nest although it is still much smaller than what they had before. They are still working on it though. Saw them mating and the female has been sitting in the nest more but I don't think she laid any eggs yet.

The company added new antennae to the tower and in the process knocked down the nest. Will be watching to see if the birds rebuild.

The chicks are finally big enough to see from the ground. They have been flapping their wings but have not yet ventured out of the nest.
