Nesting Diaries

07/05/2021 by Wild Shoes
We discovered this nest today while birding along the Cape Cod Rail Trail. An adult was in the nest while its mate flew in with a fish delivery. It is assumed that there were chicks in the nest, although we were not able to see them. The male perched near the nest and seemed to be on guard, making calls when other birds flew nearby.
