Nesting Diaries
Collecting marsh grass for nest.
Platform in good condition, some material remains in nest from previous season.
Still in a brooding posture.
Gathering nest material occasionally.
Appears the female spent the night in the nest brooding on eggs. The male relieved female from the nest, however appeared to have a hard time settling down on nest. when he did finally settled down female returned and booted him off the egg or eggs.
Both birds in nest one in the brooding posture.
Only observed a lone female in nest today.
No birds in nest overnight. Sleeping in tree on east shore of river.
Pair persistently getting challenged by another female. Not sure if its the female from barton ave nest.
Pair has been vigorously defending the nest from another bird this week.
Today the pair was observed attempting to mate multiple times.
Wind was much more cooperative today than last week.
Very active in nest building as well.
What appears to be an older female chased off bird that had been hanging around and going nest to nest.
