2 very large chicks in nest with female today, male on near snag
one incubating late this afternoon
one incubating and one on favorite nearby low shrub
one deep in nest today, nest is not super thick
63, SE 6 mph, Sunshine, male on branch with fish, female calling for him to bring i from the nest, and soon he took it to her, he stayed on the nest and she went to a branch with the fish and still was crying at him...
unable to confirm a pair, I assume as there is a much larger nest with one always at nest area, today 57, sun and clouds, E 10 mph
male taking nest material at noon today, did not see mate to confirm a pair, flurries, 34, NW 13 mph, chilly breezy day
female at nest this evening at 5:15, could not confirm a pair
i observed chick feeding for about 5 days with the female feeding and then appearing to also continue incubating but around the july 4 holiday the female was off the nest
female laying in nest this evening, did not see mate and still not certain of hatchling
no feeding behavior seen this evening at 6 pm, there should be a hatchling now if my data is correct. will keep my eyes on the nest for next couple days
female deep on nest today, i watched her reposition the eggs and herself
continuing to incubate and not bothered by the people on the nearby observation deck. this pair is just far enough away that the male has a good perch on a snag next to the platform and female is deep in nest. they seem to look in the opposite direction towards joshua and beach coves, NE
continuing to inc with mate on snag nearby
female on nest digging turning eggs then rocked down deep in nest, i am calling incubation!
male on snag next to platform, female on substantial looking nest. no incubating, i think this may be a sub adult pair
pair on nest, no incubation though
pair on nest today, nest is looking full
lots of nest material but no osprey seen
pair arrived last week and caused quite an uproar above the marsh along the Slough's Gut area. the old platform has not seen any serious nesting activity since I started monitoring in 2013, occasionally a single would dine there but now we have a new pair seriously building up the nest and adding some osprey energy to the large marsh. i hope they stay all summer and nest
