Saw both chicks taking flights today.
Floated by in my kayak and saw both chicks stretching their wings in the nest. Mom was sitting on the capped utility pole next to the nest, seemingly coaching them. From reading SMF's entry from the day before, I guess one of them had already flown. Yay!
Saw one of the chicks take a test flight. Started by spreading wings in the wind. Then flapped and rose about 2 feet above the nest. Only stayed for about a minute before settling back down.
Rode by in my kayak and saw 2 chicks and an adult in nest.
Just happened to be watching the nest at about 5 pm when one of the adults (I think the male) came back with a fish. The other adult was nestled down in the nest and rose up when supper arrived.

Clearly saw 2 chicks in nest!
Most days this week a chick's head was observed poking above the rim of the nest. Have only seen one chick at a time. So still don't know how many chicks have hatched.
First observation of chick in nest. Because of viewing angle, it's hard to see activity in the nest. Did see a chick's head pop up a few times.
On 5/23 I observed both birds in nest, not in incubating posture. Same thing on Sunday, 5/24. It seems that the chicks might have hatched.
I witnessed the changing of the guard this morning. One bird flew into nest, the one who had been incubating flew out and the other bird settled on the eggs.
At least 4 small birds are using the platform into which to build their own nests.
Mating activity observed again today.
Male and female repairing the nest.
Single osprey in nest @ 4:00 PM
I ran across the stone bridge towards the nest at about 7:30 this morning. Both birds were in the nest and watched me run by. Looked like a few new sticks had been added.
Three osprey in area. The one in the nest had a fish. The other two circling and flying fast. Images taken 3/27/2020 at 1?12 PM.
Mating activity observed today.
First time this season I've seen them Pic 4579
