Nesting Diaries

In early April this year when I last visited this nest site I didn't see any occupancy. Then on Aug 11, I managed to get there to confirm the return of the female with tag number 32A. In October of 2018, the bander for this bird, Mr. David Lamble, informed me through an e-mail that the female was observed in Santa Ana, Misiones, Argentina - 9000 km away from this nesting site. Since then I was hopeful that she would return safely to this nest and she did. I managed to get a few photographs of her, one juvenile and an adult male. A remarkable migration story of the adult female in this nest.

Nest was erected by the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) established? I have monitored since 2017. The Female on the nest ( Blue Tag 32 A) has occupied the nest each of the years since I've watched. In 2018, the nest produced 3 offspring successfully. A32, herself was hatched at Luther Marsh (A GRCA controlled conservation Area at the headwaters of the Grand River)
